Eilentes is as impressive with a long-range rifle as she is at the helm. Originally trained as a commercial pilot, she became bored with traffic lanes and flight regulations and switched to a military career.

Childhood[]

Eilentes was fortunate in that neither her mother nor her father were swept up in the Perseus Conflict. Her family owned a supply network, and remained a very safe distance behind the lines during the entire war. With their services in high demand, they were able to take on more staff. This meant they had time to raise Euryce and her twin siblings personally, as well as provide for all their needs. Euryce was a happy child, and her parents encouraged her to follow in their footsteps. They were proud to enrol her in the Commerce Authority Piloting School at the age of sixteen.

As a child, Eilentes was obsessed with flight and all manner of flying machines, and her idol was noted formation pilot Roima Gotharom. She knew from a young age exactly what she wanted to do when she grew older: fly ships.

While her siblings were at home, Euryce would follow them around doggedly and try to do whatever they did. When they were away, she spent most of her time playing with other local children.

Her father was responsible for kindling a lifelong interest in shooting.

During her formative years both of her siblings spent most of their time at school or college, and she always looked forward to seeing them come home. Her brother Brex's enlistment in the CAGA is the reason why she started to think about switching from a commercial career path to a military one. Euryce had a very close relationship with her sister Lasan in her early teens, and was heart-broken when she moved far away to live with her partner.

Education[]

Eilentes's mandatory education took place entirely at the Villium District School on her home planet of Kementhast Prime. At the age of 16 she was enrolled in the Commerce Authority Piloting School, where she graduated top of her class two years later. She then began her career in piloting. Within four years her skill had given her a reputation, and she was accepted immediately when she applied for a ten-month bridging course at the Imperial Flight Academy. Less than a year later, she was posted to the ICS Embolden.

Eilentes is very fast with mathematics and geometry, and she knows a great deal about engineering and astro-navigation. She is not very interested in literature or art, but has a good working knowledge of most of the alien species with which the Imperial Combine has regular contact. Her reasoning skills are sufficient for her role, but her deductive abilities fall far behind those of people such as Elm Caden.

Employment[]

After graduating from the Piloting School, Eilentes had no difficulty in finding work with the private sector company Mabius Intersystems. Initially she was in a minor flight role, but quickly found herself promoted to Flight Operations Assistant. She was particularly proud of this achievement, since an FOA is the civilian equivalent of a navy COMOP.

Eilentes continued to impress her co-workers and employers, and in very little time she found herself in the co-pilot seat. By the time she got bored flying the same traffic lanes over and over, she had been overseeing her own command deck for eighteen months.

Military Service[]

Soon after becoming disenchanted with her role as a commercial pilot, Eilentes retrained and entered the ranks of the Imperial Navy. Her reputation now precedes her: she is known for quick and precise navigation, bold manoeuvring, and an ability to remain cool under fire. She has recently gained her Emancipation Card, which allows her to select postings. This has given her the opportunity to work directly with a Shard, which coincidentally brought her back into contact with her ex-partner Rendir Throam.

Personality[]

Eilentes is positive and friendly, calm and confident, with an optimistic outlook and habitual reliability. She has a tendency to set goals for herself which are all too often unachievable, and then blames herself when she fails to meet them. She can get frustrated when others fail to understand her.

She is outgoing and personable, and has no problem in making friends or striking up conversation wherever she goes. She can quickly work out the social dynamics between other people and seamlessly join them.

Morality[]

Eilentes considers herself to have very middle-of-the-road moral beliefs. She is not given to extreme views and rarely makes snap decisions.

Religious Beliefs[]

Eilentes's mother was a Planetian, believing that intelligent life is the spiritual end product of every planet's evolutionary journey. This view is ridiculed throughout the Empire, and it was a source of some embarrassment to the family. It may have contributed to her parents having a period of separation. Due to the mockery she endured as a child over her mother's beliefs, Eilentes has eschewed formal religion. She does however have a certain vague sense that there is something else in the universe.

Philosophy on Life[]

Although she recognises them as a cultural cliché, Eilentes's words to live by are "seize the day". She is fond of the Rodori philosophy that everything outside the mind belongs to a universe that must be made to cooperate.

Political Views[]

Eilentes's political views are heavily influenced by the business concerns of her parents, and she sees the taxation policies of the Home Council as being necessary but over-zealous. Her view on the consular system of governance is that very little backbone is shown by local government when central policies have a large impact on daily life.

Sex Life[]

Her education and early career meant that Eilentes found it difficult to commit to long term relationships, more due to practical issues than anything else. She has had a few boyfriends, and one girlfriend, but none of them have managed to stay the distance.

Eilentes met Rendir Throam while they were both posted to the ICS Embolden, and they had a relationship that lasted just over a year. To Throam it was regular sex, but Eilentes hoped it would develop into something more serious. She eventually became exasperated with his inability to recognise her feelings, and the relationship was already cooling off by the time Throam was reassigned.

After the break-up, Eilentes did not pursue any further relationships until she was posted to the ICS Attendant in 3738. Here she started seeing the COMOP officer; although she was quite certain that she did not want to make the relationship permanent, it was good while it lasted.

Eilentes is fully in control of her sexual urges, and finds a broad range of people appealing. She does not object to casual sex but finds it more of a positive experience if there is some kind of relationship involved. She has previously experimented with another woman but decided it was not for her.

Health[]

As with most serving naval officers, Eilentes is very healthy and maintains excellent diet and fitness.

Activities[]

An accomplished sharp-shooter, Eilentes spends a lot of her time on target ranges when they are available. She enjoys shooting both as a precision sport, and as a leisure pursuit.

Recent Events[]

Eilentes joined Elm Caden and Rendir Throam as an executive pilot, shortly before their mission to Gemen Station. She performed satisfactorily in the field, safely delivering Caden to Herros, Echo, and Aldava, and began to rekindle her previous relationship with Throam. She later managed an admirable feat by putting a CAGA lander safely on the surface of Woe Tantalum while under heavy fire (→SFTD).

After the Battle of Woe Tantalum, Eilentes assisted in rounding up the Rasa agents who had been protecting Medran Morlum's base of operations. She later piloted a lander to the surface of Mibes, and was instrumental in the success of Caden's mission to extract Imperial personnel. Eilentes saved the life of Private Taliam Norskine, destroyed a polybot, and took down a blitzer while riding atop a Gorilla 410 GSP (→LOTD).

Immediately after Mibes, and following a series of lesser incidents which had soured their relationship, Eilentes had an encounter with Throam aboard the ICS Disputer which could easily have been construed as a sexual assault. She walked out on him as a result. The Battle of Meccrace Prime interrupted Throam's efforts to rectify the situation, and Eilentes was forced to leave him on the surface while escaping with Caden and Doctor Bel-Ures (→LOTD).

Following the invasion of the Meccrace system, Eilentes travelled to Earth with Caden where she enjoyed some much-needed recovery time and dealt partially with her issues surrounding the sudden disappearance of Rendir Throam. She then travelled to Guathelia, where she took part in Operation Keystone and inadvertently became the new love interest of the Tanker sergeant Zolyn Feior. After Keystone, and following a chain of events which seemed to reveal some of Voice's plans, Eilentes then took part in the operation to rescue the cabinet of the Viskr Junta from the surface of Riishi (→TRD).

Current Status[]

Eilentes is believed to be alive. Her last known location was on the surface of Riishi, in one of the towers of the Viskr citadel (→TRD).
